YYA Commends Youth Development Initiatives of Badagry West LCDA

The Yoruba Youth Assembly (YYA) has commended the efforts of Badagry West Local Council Development Area, Lagos State in initiating youth empowernment, development and cultural promotion programme in the LCDA.


The Assembly, ably represented by the Vice-President, Mr. Folorunsho Olaleru, Coordinator, YYA, Lagos West, Prince Adeshola Shakirudeen and other executives, paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman, Badagry West LCDA, Mr. Gbenu Joseph on Saturday 26th September, 2020.


The Association Vice President lauded the initiatives of the LCDA while speaking during the visit at the Council Chairman’s office.


He said, “We commend the Executive Chairman, Badagry West LCDA for his role and involvement in giving direction and inspiration to the youth of this nation.


” In particular, in the aspect of community service, advancement of humanity, maintenance of peace, youth empowerment and most importantly, promotion of culture and heritage of Yorubaland.


“The Yoruba Youth Assembly is a socio-cultural youth organisation initiated for the unity, development and emancipation of young people of Yoruba nation, both home and in Diaspora.


“YYA is a body that is founded on the principle of patriotism, justice, equity and egalitarianism to actualise harmonious, indivisible and indissoluble Yoruba nation championed by the younger generation of Yoruba in consonance with the dreams and inspiration of Yoruba founding fathers.


“Omoluabi is the name we descendants of Oduduwa call good character and it is the same way we address people like our very unique Honorable Gbenu Henugbe Joseph with such unique human quality,” he added.


The YYA is an umbrella body of Yoruba youths globally, representing 38 affiliates in Nigeria and the Diaspora.


Responding, the Chairman, appreciated the Assembly’s vision to build a strong society of youths with vision of advancement of Yoruba Nations and Nigeria as a whole, he also advised the executives to keep impacting the society.
