Young Badagry Artist Emerges Winner of GOGE Africa Art Contest

A young emerging creative talent from Badagry, Padonu Israel has emerged the overall winner of Goge Africa Art Contest, which was organised recently to commemorate Goge Africa’s 20years Anniversary, in the tourism business in Nigeria, Africa and the world at large.

Reports revealed that the contest, which was tagged ‘Our Culture, Our Heritage’ had several contest categories put in place which includes Fine Art, Short Story Writing, Photography, Fashion, and Video Documentary.

Out of 1,062 entries for the art contest across Africa, Padonu Israel contested in the Art category, with an artwork that was based on Badagry culture, making use of the Zangbeto masquerade, Sato drum, and subtle details on the Ogu people of Badagry to emerge the overall winner.

He received the top prize from Goge Africa, which includes $1,000, a contract package with Goge Africa, travel opportunity, amidst other amazing prizes.
