The Badagry Local Government Task Force on COVID-19 Prevention has debunked the rumors of a Covid-19 positive patient at the Badagry General Hospital.
The taskforce through its chairman, Mr. Andrew Akotomeh, the Executive Vice Chairman of Badagry Local Government reported its engagment with the management of Badagry General Hospital on the rumour in town about a Coronavirus patient being admitted at Badagry General Hospital. The team visited the facility to clear the air on the rumoured case of an infected person in Badagry.
Meeting the Medical Director of the General Hospital, he said that the hospital has no such case. He further said Badagry General Hospital is not a designated health facility for COVID-19 hence they cannot admit a COVID-19 patient. The Medical Director however enjoined people not to share fake news on social media as it will not help the fight against the pandemic.
