A non-governmental organization, the Senayon Olufemi Kuton (SOK) Foundation has initiated a “Support the Widows” project in Badagry. Launching the project on Saturday, the Foundation gave out cash stipends to selected vulnerable and aged widows in Badagry, Lagos State.
President of the Foundation, Mr. Senayon Kuton, who spoke to CityMood from his United States of America base said the project aims at identifying 80 widows that will receive cash stipends every quarter of the year for their personal upkeep.
“We are looking at a sustainable approach in support our widows, so it’s not going to be a one-off exercise. We would reachout to the widows every three months of every year, as God will help us.
“And as you know charity should begin from home, so we are focusing on the three local council areas in Badagry federation at the moment”. He said.
The exercise which ended on Monday saw beneficiaries full of gratitude and offering prayers for the foundation and its president.
