Setonji Donates Six Classroom Block to a School in Badagry

The Lagos State House of Assembly(LSHA) Member representing Badagry Constituency II, Hon. (Engr.) Setonji David on Wednesday, 17th February 2021 officially handed a block of Six classrooms donated to Ajara Comprehensive Senior High School, Ajara Topa in Badagry Local Government Area of Lagos State.

Speaking at the event which came up at the school premises, the Special Guest of Honour, the Speaker LSHA, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Obasa applauded the House Member for good representation by delivering dividend of democracy to his people.

“From his speech, he toured round and from there, you will surely understand that he wasn’t being asked to do but as a good representative, a good leader, he choose to put it in place, that means you have a good representative at Lagos State House of Assembly.

“We have come to commission a block of six classrooms from his own pocket, it shows that he knows the importance of education and as he has stated how valuable education is to our children and community and this is why he is donating the structure”. Hon. Obasa stated.

In his keynote address, Hon. Setonji David stated that overtime, developing education has been his plight, noting that the interest of developing education by his late father and other notable leaders have been a propelling force aiding his investment in education.

“The saying of my father, Late Chief Amos David that, ‘Education is the light, it is the movement from darkness to light’ has always propelled my thought towards educational development of our people.

“Sometimes in 2018, I toured all the primary and secondary schools in my Constituency. During my visit to these schools, I also observed that many of the schools did not have enough classrooms. The case of Ajara Comprehensive was considered the worst hence I offered to build these six classrooms block which we are commissioning today”. He added

Hon. Setonji also affirmed that he will continue to provide dividends of democracy to his people.

“Let me assure you all that I will continue to work assiduously in providing needed social amenities to the good people of Badagry. I hereby name the building AMOS DAVID BLOCK.

In her remarks, the Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo ably represented by the Tutor General/ Permanent Secretary of Education District V, Mr. Erinle Olufolami noted that the effort of Hon. Setonji David is noble in supporting the education of our children.

“This is a nobility which indelible mark will be difficult to supersede in a short period of time. The provision of six classrooms block will go a long way to solve and ameliorate the unbearable condition of students in this area such as overcrowding.

“On behalf of the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Commissioner of Education, Mrs. Folasade Adefisayo, I want to deeply appreciate the generosity of Hon. Setonji David for his support to Education District V and also to Lagos State in general”. He said
