Sesi Whingan Foundation Donates Equipments and Facelift Pota Primary Health Centre

A non-governmental organization (NGO), in Badagry Lagos State, Sesi Whingan Foundation on Tuesday 24th November 2020 donated medical and non-medical equipment worth millions of naira to Pota Primary Health Centre (PPHC), Pota, Badagry and carried out facelift of the health facility to improve health service in the community.

The donation of the equipments took place at Pota Primary Health Centre, following the renovation of the health centre’s structures.

During his welcome address at the event, the Founder of Sesi Whingan Foundation (SWF), Prince Sesinu Whingan stated that the ceremony is a day of joy for him and the foundation, considering the number of lives that will be impacted through the usage of the equipments and facility.

“Today might not be a day for long speeches, but it is definitely a day of premium joy and celebration. SWF is a registered NGO that has the mission to give back to the society from the quantum of uncountable blessing the Lord has bestowed us with and to also deliver social goods to countless number of beneficiaries in Lagos, especially our very own Badagry,” he said.

He further stated that since the foundation was established in 2014, it has impacted countless number of lives in pursuance of its mission, as lots of grants and scholarship have being given to indigent students, with distribution of food items to people among others.

According to him, the distribution of food items and cash worth millions of naira during the Covid-19 pandemic to cushion the effect of the outbreak exemplified the kind gesture of the organization. He also added that the donation of items such as hospital beds, fridges, first aid boxes, chairs, office tables, partitioning screen, mosquito nets among others, is to aid the betterment of people within the community.

“Our foundation, your foundation (Sesi Whingan Foundation) has engaged and will continue to engage in social welfarism, this we vividly exemplified during the Covid-19 pandemic. We were able to touch so many lives and help in cushioning the effects of the pandemic by the distribution of food items and monetary gifts to the vulnerable in the society,”

He therefore appreciated the work force for job well done, charging them to keep up their good works. “As we say in our foundation, ‘we will deliver the greatest of social goods to the greatest number of people when given more responsibilities’, so please stay tuned to our vision”. He added.

In his remarks, the Aholu of Ikoga-Zebbe, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Athanhode applauded the foundation for the donation, stressing that it will impact the entire community and help to improve health service delivery by workers at the centre.

Oba Athanhode showered prayers on the Founder of SWF, Prince Sesinu, imploring the audience to pray for him, stating that there are many who are blessed financially but did not deem it fit to impact lives in the society. He therefore called on all sons and daughters of the soil who are financially blessed to give back to their community.

“It is God that sends Sesinu and I pray God who has sent him will keep on helping him to succeed. There are many who are blessed but are keeping it to themselves, but Sesinu’s case is not like that”. he said.

Reacting to the donation, the Assistant Director of Nursing, PPHC, Mrs. Tinubu J. O. appreciated Sesi Whingan Foundation for the donated items and facelift of the primary health centre, stressing that it is a thing of joy for all the staff and workers of the health centre.

She therefore added that the equipment will be used judiciously for the betterment of community dwellers.
