Scope is one of the biggest artistes presently representing Badagry, Lagos, Nigeria.
His names are Babalola Babatunde, from Whlakoh Quarters, Badagry. Although, he spent part of childhood years in Festac Town Lagos, he never forgets his origin as a native of Badagry one of the tourist communities in Lagos.
He is a versatile and prolific recording artiste, an actor, songwriter, model, dancer, entrepreneur and a performing artist. To sum it up, Scope could be described as a 360 degrees entertainer.
His style of music is Afro-fusion/Fuji, a blend of Afrobeats/ Afro-Popmixed with a feel of Yoruba Fuji.
Scope has worked with some of the biggest record producers: Solshyne, credit to solshyne’s work, Money by Soft, Do Good by Joel Amadi to mention but a few.
Recently he announced working with one of the biggest record producers in Nigeria. Cracker mallo, Cracker has produced some of the biggest songs in Africa. By Olamide, Tiwa savage, D Banj, Fireboy, Slimcase, Teni to mention few.
He has about a decade entertainment experience, his gradual rise to where he is now started at the beginning of last decade, where he participated in a series of competitions nationwide. At the Maltina Dance (Show your swag) in 2010, he emerged the 2nd runner-up; he also came third in the Airtel talent hunt the same year.
In 2015 he took his affection for entertainment a bit further when he produced/released a song for Orijin Nigeria which earned a place in the Orijin Recap in 2015. In September of 2018, at Oriental Hotel, he picked up an award he won for the craziest video in the Chikalann Pvc Challenge. In the same year at Amuwo Odofin, Scope the entertainer won the prestigious battle of sounds.
Nothing beats recognition on the home front. He won the Artist of the Year at the 2019 BADAGRY AWARD BANQUET. He was also presented the OUTSTANDING HIP HOP ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the third edition of BADAGRY INTEGRITY AWARDS. These awards according to him serves as encouragement from his kinsmen to keep giving outstanding performances and also not relent in projecting development in Badagry through his music.
In Scope, Badagry may have found herself another international Act. In 2019 Scope went on a group vacation to Dubai with Davido “DAVIDO DUBAI GROUP TOUR” and other Top celebrities artistes. The vacation was powered by DubaiAfrika in partnership with FCMB. The prolific artist “Scope the Entertainer” also featured in Davido Welcome to Dubai Yacht Party and also participated in other activities like One Africa Music Fest, Naira Marley show amont others.
Towards the tail end of 2019, Scope dropped another single for the street titled “zombie” which featured Danny S. This song in produced by one of the Nigeria hit Sound maker Solshyne. Mix and mastered by prodigy beatz. Zombie viral video was shot in Dubai.
In Dubai Scope linked up with the CEOs of The Pulch Records and they put pen to paper on a good deal that will see Scope soar higher.
After he signed to The Pulch Records, The official video was shot in early 2020 and was released on the 27th of February. The video was shot by one of the leading Nigeria Music Video directors TG Omori. The video hit a whooping 500,000 streams and download on all platforms within 72 hours.
TG Omori is the hottest music video director at the moment.
