Calls for Commitment and Dedication in Discharge of Duties

The Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Badagry, Lagos State, Mr. Samson Olatunde, on Monday 7th December 2020 presented an official vehicle and cash to the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in the area at the union’s last monthly prayer meeting for year 2020.
This was made known in a press release issued on Tuesday by the Media Aide to the Chairman, Farayola Joseph and co-signed by the Special Adviser on Information, Adeosun Abdulwahab.
The statement revealed that the Chairman of NULGE Olorunda, Comr. Ogunyemi Ayo expressed appreciation to God for guiding every worker in the council and to the Council Chairman for his contribution towards the smooth running of the union.
“He further stated that the Council Mayor had given a huge priority to the welfare of every worker in the Council.
Furthermore, the Council Mayor fulfilled his promise of providing an official vehicle to the union during the prayer meeting.
“However, it was publicly announced that the cheques for the beneficiaries of the award for Best/Most outstanding staff (senior and junior categories) for the year 2019 were ready for collection.”The statement reads.
The Council Chairman in his remarks urged members of the union to be more committed and dedicated in the discharge of their duties.
“We need to build a stronger culture of dedication and commitment towards the discharge of our duties and responsibilities as civil servants,” he said.
“I want to also remind you all that my administration has got zero tolerance for negligence of duty. Absenteesm is not part of our duty culture and as a result of this, everyone of you is obliged to jettison such unwanted act. Let us all strive towards giving our best in the discharge of our duties”, he added.
