The Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area in Badagry, Lagos State, Mr. Samson Folorunsho Olatunde (Samola) on Thursday 4th February 2021 laid the foundation of an ultra-modern market in Oko-Afo, area of the LCDA.
According to a press statement released by the Media Aide to the Chairman, Farayola Joseph and co-signed by the Special Adviser on Information to the Chairman, Adeosun Abdulwahab, the commissioning of various projects by the Samola led administration has earned the Chairman the nickname Mr. Project.
In a short remark during the laying of the foundation, Mr. Olatunde stated that the construction became necessary due to the overpopulation of the market, adding that there is need for a well structured market where social distancing can be maintained in order to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
“The construction of an ultra-modern market in Oko-Afo becomes necessary due to the congestion and over-crowding which characterised this market. In order to ensure relief and convenience for the traders, my administration considers the construction of an ultra-modern market as very important.” He said.
In the same vein, the Chairman also inspected the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Araromi-Ale, a project which would increase the number of primary health centres in the LCDA
