
The Chairman of Olorunda Local Council Development Area, Mr. Samson Folorunsho Olatunde (SAMOLA) on Monday 1st February 2021 flagged off a staff clinic in the Secretariat for workers of the council.
A press release issued by the Media Aide to the Chairman, Farayola Joseph and co-signed by the Special Adviser on Information to the Chairman, Adeosun Abdulwahab revealed that the staff clinic was flagged off during the thanksgiving and welcome service of the National Local Government Employees (NULGE), Olorunda LCDA Chapter.
The Chairman stated that the welfare and safety of every worker in the council is his priority, adding that adequate health facilities and other necessary health equipments will be provided for the staff clinic in due course.
“In a grand remark by the Council Mayor, he reiterated the need to comply with government directives against COVID-19; the use of nose masks, regular sanitization of the hands with hand sanitizers, and maintaining social distance in large gatherings are essential precautions against the deadly pandemic.
“The Council Mayor assured every civil servant of his commitment towards worker’s welfare. He also mentioned that his administration will stop at nothing in building more structures and initiating more projects that will continue to give the Council an admirable lift,” the statement reads.
The statement also revealed that Samola announced a significant increase in the monthly welfare package of staff (double), noting that a bumper, first-of-its-kind package will be available for retirees which will enable them go home with cash gifts ranging from 150,000 to 500,000 Naira.
