There were fears of earth quake and tremor in Badagry and several other mainland communities in Lagos state today 15th March, as a pipeline was reported to have exploded in Abule Ado, a community along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway.
Reports indicate many are feared dead in the incidence and some may be trapped in collapsed buildings and structures around the immediate area of the explosion. Survivors and witnesses report cases of dead children from a nearby boarding school.
It has not been confirmed if the earth shaking was a consequence of the pipeline explosion or if the suspected tremor triggered the explosion.
The Federal Fire Service of Nigeria has confirmed the occurrence of the explosion. But it is yet to state the cause of the explosion.
