Officials and members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos Province 31, today rallied against the wanton killing of Christians and other innocent citizens across the country by bandits and foreign terrorist groups and the general state of insecurity in the country.
Shortly after its Sunday service at its cathedral on Badagry-Seme Expressway, its Provincial Pastor, Pastor John Obiwusi announced the decision of the headquarters for all RCCG parishes to join CAN rally to bring to the notice of government their displeasure on theĀ condemnable spate of killings of innocent citizens across the country.
“The service has ended but we will be holding a prayer walk for Nigeria. We would pray as we move along for God to heal the nation.
“We would pray that God should arrest the powers that are sponsoring the killings of Christians and other innocent people across the length and breadth of our country.
“Just the other day a State CAN Chairman was beheaded. Another Christian student was shot dead. Several other Christians are held captive by kidnappers, terrorists and bandits in several places across Nigeria.
“We will rally round to call the attention of government to this precarious and unfortunate solution. We will also pray that God arise and let the enemies of Nigeria scatter” Pastor Obiwusi said.
The congregants thereafter moved round major roads in the historic city of Badagry singing various Christian victory songs; praying for the country; and holding placards with various inscriptions such as “We say no to terrorism”, “All souls are precious to God”, and “We say no to killings”. Others are “Silencing others rights is not right”, “Shed no blood, it cries to God” among others.
