RAK Donate Borehole to a Community at Ijanikin

A non governmental organization in Badagry, Lagos State, Real Act of Kindness (RAK) Development Foundation has constructed and donated a borehole with overhead tank and a generator to a community in Ijanikin in Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State.

The pioneer of RAK Development Foundation Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende while speaking at the commissioning of the project which held on Thursday, 8th July 2021 stated that he was baffled to hear that people are buying water in the community which stirred him towards donating the project when he was contacted.

“I received a call like few days ago from CityMood Publisher that this community is lacking water and I was a bit touched and moved hearing that they buy water for consumption and other uses. I requested what they want us to do and he said we can help them out with provision of bore hole water.

“Water is life because you do many things with it. It was very important for me to answer this call to construct and donate this borehole to the community because I believe in the Holy Scriptures that defines the importance of water”. He said

While responding to questions from the press on his motivation in extending kindness to Oto-Awori, Ogunlende stated that, “It was a request from the community, however, it is out of our jurisdiction but the nature of the request being water necessitated us to yield to it because it is a calling from God and I must obey. I am blessed with good things and I need to bless others”.

In his remarks, the facilitator of the project to the community, Mr. Jide Thompson appreciated the Pioneer of the foundation and his team for extending their benevolence to the community by constructing a borehole and donating a generator to power it. He further stated that he was surprised by the response of the Pioneer of RAK in constructing the borehole within five days.

“I want to appreciate the Pioneer of RAK Development Foundation for his prompt response in constructing this borehole for us. I was amazed when he said we must do it within five days. As old as I am, I have not seen even a government that constructed a borehole within two weeks. He is not partisan and not from government, it is done for free”. He said

He therefore added that a committee will be set up to monitor the operation and maintenance of the facility to ensure it serves the community properly.

A residence of the community who spoke on behalf of the community, Mr. Sunday Samuel expressed his gratitude to the Pioneer of RAK for the gift from the foundation, praying that God should continue to bless the pioneer with more wealth and heart to do more.

“I want to appreciate RAK Foundation that brought this good thing we never expected. I was surprised when I heard about it, until I saw the materials for the project. We are happy for the burden that he helped us to uplift. We are appreciative and we pray God continue to bless him bountifully”. He said
