The body of the celebrated former Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Late Pa Simeon Kiki Whenu has been laid to rest in Badagry on Friday 15th November 2019.
Buried with honours befitting a king, the funeral was attended by state and local government functionaries, business and religious leaders, royalties (well represented as custom forbids monarchs from attending funerals) and several persons from different walks of life.
As part of the honours, Governor Babajide Sanwoolu who was represented by his Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Bonu Solomon promised to build a modern jetty in Badagry to be named after the late S. K. Whenu on completion.
The Executive Chairman, Badagry Local Government, Mr. Segun Onilude had promised, during the lying-in-state to name the Ajara-Badagry Roundabout Garage and Shopping Complex, under reconstruction, after the deceased former chairman.
