
It would be 60years this 1st October that Nigeria gained her independence from the British Colonial rule. To mark this milestone, the Ministry of Regional and Special Duties, Osun State, Nigeria is organizing an Essay Competition to commemorate the special day.
According to the organizer, participation in the essay competition is open to indigenes of Osun State studying in any tertiary institution across Nigeria and non-indigene students studying in tertiary institutions within the Osun State.
Interested applicants are expected to write an essay on the topic: ‘Moving Ahead Post Corona Virus Pandemic: Impact and Prospects of Covid-19 on the Economy’, which must not exceed 1,200 words and submit to osunessay2020@gmail.com in Microsoft word format.
It is gathered that applicants must include their contact information (Name, Institution, Home Address, Telephone Number and email address) at the end of their essays, attach State of Origin/Local Government Identification and School Identity Card.
Essays will be reviewed by distinguished panel of judges made up of academicians from reputable Nigerian Universities/Corporate sector, on the basis of originality, creativity, good expression of English language and relevance to essay topic, after which ten (10) essays will be shortlisted for further assessment.
Selected essayists would be notified by email/SMS, inviting then to the final assessment event.
Successful participants would receive their prizes and awards at an event which will be held at the Local Government Service Commission Hall on October 1st, 2020 by 12noon.
