
The Akran of Badagry, His Majesty, De Whenu Aholu Menu-Toyi 1 and Permanent Vice Chairman, Lagos State Council of Obas and Chiefs has been described as a pragmatic traditional ruler who has used his simple and modest lifestyle to facilitate peaceful coexistence among indigenous people of the ancient city and other residents thereby enhancing the growth and development of the costal town.
This was said by the Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government Area, Mr. Onilude Adeniran in his congratulatory message to the first class monarch on the occasion of his 85th birthday, on Saturday, 18th September 2021.
“As the traditional ruler of Badagry, you have done much to strengthen the bond of coexistence between Badagrians and other tribesmen living and doing business in the area, hence, placing us on the pathway to a better future.
“You have shown that rare combination of a simple and modest lifestyle coupled with an ambitious and grand vision that has proven to be a great recipe to the development of the ancient Kingdom of Badagry. He noted.
Onilude further stated that the leadership style of the Akran which has project the image of Badagry nation wide and internationally has a home of peace and a haven for hospitality is worthy of emulation.
“Your unrivalled dedication and pragmatism with which you have so far piloted this sacred stool in such a progressive direction that is currently showcasing Badagry town as a center of peace and home of hospitality is worth emulating by other traditional leaders in Nigeria at this critical period of security challenges in our dear country.
“It is with great joy that I join the entire Ogu race worldwide, and the good people of Badagry to extend best wishes to our revered monarch; De Whenu, Aholu Menu-Toyi 1, the Akran of Badagry and the most prominent monarch of Badagry Division on the special occasion of his 85th birthday. This special day gives us an opportunity to personally thank you for the contributions you have made to the development, peace and tranquility we enjoy in the Badagry Corridor of Lagos State”. The Chairman said.
He therefore prayed that God will continue to bless him, his royal family and the entire Ogu race in years to come in longevity of his life and rulership.
“May Almighty God continue to bless you, your royal family, the kingdom of Badagry and the entire Ogu race in Nigeria under your indefatigable leadership.
“Hawee!!! I once again rejoice with you on this great occasion of your 85th birthday and pray that God grants you more years to live in good health and prosperity”. He added.
