Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State under the leadership of the Council Chairman, Mr. Samson Folorunso Olatunde (a.k.a Samola) on Thursday 17th December 2020 held its 2021 Proposed Budget Stakeholders Forum in the council chambers.
This was made known in a press release issued by the Media Aide to the Chairman, Farayola Joseph and co-signed by the Special Adviser on Information to the Chairman, Adeosun Abdulwahab.
“Having welcomed stakeholders in attendance, the Council Mayor proceeded to give a detailed breakdown of expenditures covering the previous fiscal year which included capital projects such as the construction of schools, health centres, reconstruction of Iworo Area Office, reconstruction of Customary Court, Iworo, purchase of official vehicles for directors, the ongoing construction of an Office Complex at the Council Secretariat, provision of borehole across the 5 Wards in the LCDA with plans in place to do more, palliative repair of Ilogbo road, palliative repair of Magbon road, staff and teachers salaries (paid when due), principal officers (paid regularly) and many more.” The statement reads.
The statement also revealed that the Chairman after listening to observations, ideas and suggestions from the audience highlighted some of the shortcomings that disturbed the administrative activities of the previous fiscal year.
According to the statement, “top amongst them was the notoriously low Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) which hampered the actualization of some of the projections for the last fiscal year. On this, he reached out to residents of the LCDA through the stakeholders present.”
Appealing to all residents of the LCDA to live up to civic responsibilities, Samola said, ” I wish to appeal to everyone here present to live up to our civic responsibilities and encourage those in our domain to do same so that all we have promised to do in the next fiscal year can become a reality.”
