Lagos to Document all Tourism Attraction Sites in the State

The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Art and Culture, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile-Yussuf, has revealed that plans are been made to document all tourism attraction sites in the state.

Speaking at an event to commemorate the 2020 World Tourism Day on Monday, 28th September, 2020, the Commissioner explained that plans had been perfected by the government to leverage on the natural resources in the state to attract both local and foreign tourists.

According to Punch reports, Mrs. Uzamat pointed out that the state is blessed with numerous resources in the agriculture value chain, which if well harnessed, would boost the economy, increase internally generated revenue and create job opportunities.

“We are also trying to have the documentary of all the tourism attraction sites in Lagos and I can tell you in another one or two months, we are going to have that presentation and none of tourism sites in Lagos State will be left out, so that everyone can be informed about these sites online and that is one of the ways we are trying to domesticate tourism in Lagos state,” she said.

In the same vein, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Bonu, called for greater attention to tourism sites in Badagry, stressing that the ancient town is significant in the history of the country’s tourism.
