Comptroller Bello Jibo has resumed duty as the new Controller of the Nigerian Customs Services (NCS), Seme Area Command on Monday, 28th September 2020.
This was revealed in a press statement released yesterday to pressmen in Badagry, Lagos State, by the NCS Public Relations Officer, Seme Command, Mr Hussaini Abdullahi.
Abdullahi said that Jibo was transferred to Seme Area Command following the recent appointments and deployments of some higher ranking officers in the service.
It was gathered that the outgoing Acting Controller, Deputy Comptroller Chedi Wada, at a brief ceremony handed over the mantle of leadership of the command to Jibo.
Wada urged the officers of the command to accord the new controller the needed support so that he would be able to perform effectively at Seme Command, also praying for a successful tenure for the new Area Controller.
The new Customs Boss for the Command, Mr Bello Jibo, commended the outgoing Acting Customs Area Controller for a successful tenure and wished him the best of luck in his future assignments.
Jibo further stated that the ongoing border drill exercise and COVID-19 lock down order, the task of effectively securing one of the nation’s borders remains his utmost priority, stressing that there is need for the officers and men of the command to cooperate with him in order to manage the affairs of the command by reducing smuggling and other trans-border crimes to the barest minimum.
