Hunpe Clears the Air on the Arrest of Badagry Youths

Shortly after some Badagry youths took to their social media pages to point accusing fingers at Hon. Babatunde Hunpe for allegedly being behind the arrest of some protesters in the Badagry mass movement held yesterday, the Member representing Badagry Federal Constituency, has cleared the air, stating that he knows nothing about the arrest.

This was made known in a press statement signed by the Head of his Media and Publicity Team, Prince Sunday Oke, late yesterday.

“I wish to informed the general public that my Principal, Rep Babatunde Hunpe MHR Badagry Federal Constituency is not behind the arrest of the lead convener of Fix Lagos-Badagry Expressway on today as alleged by Mr. Sewanu Michael.

“My Principal had been working tiredlessly with the Federal Ministry of Work and Housing on how to speed up the work on the road.

“Yesterday my boss granted an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) pleading with Badagry youths to shelved their planned protest on the deplorable condition of Lagos Badagry Expressway but this should not be misunderstood as he is against the move which will now lead him to call for arrest of his people.

“Rep Hunpe is a man of the people and he remains so.” The statement reads.

“Rep. Hunpe is making efforts to mediate and ensure the release of the arrested persons, he is also in contact with the top heirachy of Police on the matter.

“Rep Babatunde Hunpe is committed to development of Badagry federal constituency and is doing everything within his capacity to ensure that infrastructural development from federal government come to Badagry especially the completion of Lagos-Badagry Expressway.” The statement added.
