The Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr. Solomon Saanu Bonu and three other Lagos State Executive Council members and a Permanent Secretary today went on project inspection in Badagry, Lagos State ahead of commissioning by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu.
The team consists of Engr. Aramide Adeoye, Special Adviser for Works and Infrastructure; Mr. Solomon Bonu, Special Adviser for Tourism, Arts and Culture; Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Special Adviser for Housing; Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Special Adviser, Office of Civic Engagement; and Engr. Olujimi Hotonu, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.
Some of the projects inspected are the Mother and Child Centre at Badagry General Hospital, Imeke-Iworo-Ajido-Epeme Road with a 300m bridge, Imeke-Iworo Mini Water Works and the 250-units Peridot Parkland Estate in Idale.
Mr. Bonu said some of the projects are completed while others will be completed soon before commissioning. “You would remember Mr. Governor has said he would not leave projects abandoned and that is why he is making effort to see that all these projects are fully completed and put to use for the good of Badagry people in particular and Lagosians in general” he added.
Interacting with the team, His Majesty the Oniworo of Iworo, Oba Idris Kosoko appreciated the effort of the State Government in completing the Imeke-Iworo-Ajido road and the quality of work done. Like Oliver Twist, the monarch requested the state government to construct a jetty at the Epeme end of the road to further open up the axis to development.
On her part Engr. Aramide Adeoye said the Imeke-Iworo Mini Waterworks has the full capacity to meet the water demands of its neighbours when in operation.
