
Following the EndSARS protest which was hijacked by hoodlums, that led to the destruction of the Council Secretariat and other buildings and properties in Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, Lagos State, the Council has banned the activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), motorcycles (Okada) and tricycles (Keke Marwa) and other commercial transport operators in Ajegunle.
This was made known in a statement released by the Chairman of the LGA, Fatai Ayoola, recently.
According to the nation online report, Ayoola said that the ban would remain effective pending the conclusion of investigations into the recent looting, arson, and destruction of buildings, properties, bank facilities and vehicles inside the council secretariat.
The Chairman further noted that relevant security agencies including the Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, NURTW Lagos Council Chairman, Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya (MC Oluomo) and others have been briefed on the latest development.
