
The Founder of Sesi Whingan Foundation, a non-governmental organization in Badagry, Lagos State, Mr. Sesi Whingan has stated that Covid-19 pandemic is real, thereby urging residents of Badagry to stay safe and take safety measures.
This was made known in a press statement released on Tuesday 12th January 2022 by the philantropist.
Mr. Whingan expressed worry over the rapid spread of the virus in Lagos and urged Lagosians, especially people residing in Badagry and its environs to adhere to all Covid-19 safety protocols.
“No doubt, our dear state, the Lagos State is now the epicenter of the dreaded global pandemic, the coronavirus in Nigeria.
“Statistically according to the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC as of today, 12th January 2021, Lagos State is the most ravaging state of the Covid-19 in Nigeria with the total confirmed cases of 35,875, with 256 recorded deaths. This is no doubt worrisome, hence the need for caution and absolute adherence and observation of all safety protocols laid down by experts.
” I urge all residents of Lagos State, especially my people in Badagry, to often observe social distancing, frequent hand washing with running water and soap, the use of alcoholic base sanitizer and wearing of facemask, especially when going out. Also, I urge you to stay at home, especially when it’s not necessary to move out of our homes.
” To those who still doubt the authencity of the existence of Covid-19, the pandemic is real, not scam, not joke but deadly,” the statement reads.
