
The Special Adviser to the Governor of Lagos State on Tourism, Arts & Culture, Mr. Solomon Bonu, on Tuesday 26th January 2021 announced the commencement of season II of BONU-SANWO-TINUBU Education Support Initiative, which the registration is now open for interested participants, adding that this year’s edition has a special category for last year’s beneficiaries with a cumulative score of 2.1 grade points and above.
The BONU-SANWO-TINUBU Education Support Initiative, formerly referred to as BONU Solomon Education Initiative (BESI) is aimed at paying the tuition fees of newly admitted indigenous students into LASU, LASPOTECH and AOCOED.
Reports revealed that last year, the Initiative paid the tuition fees of 100 newly admitted indigenous students in LASU, 50 in LASPOTECH and 50 in AOCOED.
This year’s edition is targeted at paying the tuition fees of 100 newly admitted students in this three tertiary institutions and pay for last year’s beneficiaries who have a cumulative score of 2.1 grade points and above.
“I will also give last year students whose cumulative score for 100 level is within 2.1 and above,” Bonu said.
According to the Special Adviser, the Support Program was given its new name due to the contribution of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu towards educational advancement in the nation.
“BONU-SANWO-TINUBU was concepted due to the gargantuan contributions of the two giant leaders in the educational development in the nation and the platform they also created for me to explore and excel”. He said.
Interested students are expected to register online via https://bit.ly/BonuEducationSupportInitiatives2020 after which they will be contacted through their email/phone numbers for screening by a committee of lecturers to be headed by Dr. Paul-Sewa Thovoetin.
Requirements to be submitted online by newly admitted students include student admission letter, acceptance fee receipt, Local Government Letter of Identification, and LASSRA identification card, while last year’s beneficiaries are to submit their result too.
Participants can also access the hard copy of the form by contacting: Associate Prof. Paul-Sewa Thovoethin and Associate Prof. Henry Hunjo for LASU; Dr. Michael Avosehtinyen and Dr. Zosu Segbenu Joseph for AOCOED and Dr. Seyide Akoro and Dr. Godonu for LASPOTECH.
Deadline for registration is two weeks from 26th January 2021.
