Distributes Life Jackets Donated by RAK Foundation

A delegation of Councilor of Badagry West LCDA led by the Leader of the House, Mr. Oluwafemi Mukaila, yesterday, 29th September 2020 embarked on a sensitization tour to all jetties in the LCDA.
This was made known through a press statement signed by the Leader of the House, Badagry West LCDA, Mr. Oluwafemi Mukaila, earlier today.
According to the release, the tour was targeted at sensitizing the people about waterways transport and appropriate use of life jackets which was donated by RAK Foundation to all the jetties visited in the area.
“I thank the Honorable Chairman Badagry West LCDA for giving we the councilors the support to carry out this oversight function and on behalf of the Chairman Badagry West LCDA, Hon. Gbenu and the people of Badagry Federation.
“I appreciate the donor, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende for his generosity and care for humanity; he led the presentation of the life jackets in each jetty visited. I stressed that this development came at the appropriate time.” The statement reads.
According to the statement, the Pioneer of RAK Foundation, Mr. Mobolaji Ogunlende noted that the provision of life jackets to jetties is to help fill the void of unavailability of life jackets, and most importantly for the safety of mankind.
“I also charged the Jetty stakeholders Chairman Gbaji Yeke, Comr. Philip Joseph (Only God Marine), Mr Olu Nla, Chief Jide Depegan and others to make good use of the jackets, even while advising boat users to be safety conscious and to use the life jackets for their own safety. While addressing the people, I also broke the news that the Governor Sanwo-Olu led administration has reviewed the fare of boats, by reducing the costs, and this would take effect soonest in all jetties in Badagry west and in Lagos State at large.
“The Chairman of Gbaji, Gayingbo, Apa, kese, Pashi Jetty Stakeholders thanked the donor of the life jackets for the kind gesture, he also appreciated other all participants at the event, he also promised that the jackets will be put into good use according to best practice, he also stressed that boat operators will be trained and retrained on best practices in order to ensure safety of lives and to achieve an accident free operation.” The statement added.
