
The Chairman of Badagry West Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mr. Gbenu Joseph has given out intervention fund to support the electrification projects of eight communities in the LCDA.
This was revealed in a press statement released by the Special Senior Adviser on Information and Tourism to the Chairman, Solomon Zosu on Friday 17th December 2020.
According to the statement, the benefitting communities are: Sito Phase 2, Ganyingbo, Agonvi, Whayigbeme, Sakpo, Agonvi Topa, Pengbo and Age Topa community.
During the presentation of the fund, the chairman, Mr. Gbenu Joseph advised representatives of the benefitting communities to ensure that the money is used for what it is meant for, adding that his administration will continue to see to the growth and development of the area.
“Today I am presenting the sum of 150,000 naira to each communities to power their area.
“What we are witnessing today is a result of my administration’s determination to see positive transformations in our communities, which is also in line with the THEMES agenda of Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu, the Executive Governor of Lagos State,” he said.
“My government is committed to providing access to clean, safe, affordable and reliable electricity across board. This includes rural areas that have lacked electricity access for many years.
“With the presentation of grant, i am quite sure it will assist them in the speedy completion of their electrification projects,” Gbenu added.
The statement also revealed that the CDC Chairman, Mr. Kolade Ogungbe, appreciated the council chairman for the intervention fund, while representatives of the eight communities promised to utilize it well.
