Badagry Local Government Set to Distribute Food Relief to Residents

The Chairman, Badagry Local Government, Mr. Onilude Olusegun has indicated the readiness of his administration to distribute food relief packages to residents of the council area, in support of the Lagos State Governments effort in ameliorating the challenges of residents under the Covid-19 lockdown.

In a meeting with the Covid-19 Food Relief Committee of the council and monitored by CityMood, Mr. Onilude mentioned that 2,000 food relief packages will be distributed to the immediate families of the most vulnerable residents in all communities in Badagry Local Government.

“Please identify the most vulnerable people in your areas. Ensure everyone is represented, don’t identify based on political party affiliation or ethnicity. Don’t say because someone doesn’t like Onilude’s face the person shouldn’t get what is due to them” Mr. Onilude told members of the committee.

The Chairman said the committee is composed of and will be working with CDC/CDA leaders, select local government officials, religious leaders, community leaders, artisans, market leaders, councilors and social media influencers to ensure that the food packages get directly to those who need them the most without bias.

Mr. Onilude said a relief pack will include 5kg of Rice, 5kg of Beans, 5kg of Garri, Tomatoes Paste, Vegetable Oil and a Pack of Maggi Seasoning.

In a statement issued through the Chief Press Secretary to the Badagry Local Government Chairman, Mr. Sewedo Samuel, the relief programme will come up on Wednesday 8th of April 2020.
