Badagry Deserves a Better Healthcare Structure – Prince Olu Kosoko


The Visioner of Olu Kosoko Foundation, Prince Olu Kosoko, during the launch of Rotary Family Health Day programme on Friday 20th November 2020 stated that residents of Badagry deserve a better healthcare structure and charged all stakeholders to rise to the challenge of improving it.


The event, which held at Badagry Town Hall, Badagry Lagos State saw the launch of the Rotary Family Health Day Programme organized by Olu Kosoko Foundation in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Eko Atlantic, which will be holding for two days.


During his welcome address at the event, Prince Kosoko who was ably represented by his brother Prince Oluwaseyi Kosoko noted that charity and humanitarian service is from the heart, stressing that distance should not be a barrier in the discharge of humanity services.


“Sincere apologies that I could not make it in person because of the current Covid-19 lockdown in United Kingdom but charity and humanitarian works can be done from the deepest part of our hearts to anywhere in the world. Hence charity is boundless,” he said.


He further stated that the health sector in Badagry has been affected due to lack of attention, adding that the Rotary Family Health Day Programme is aimed at reaching not less than one thousand (1,000) persons of all ages across Badagry.


“Our health sector in Badagry have being grossly challenged with limited medical centres in rural communities, lack of infrastructure, inadequate health facilities and medications, limited medical research programs in Badagry to enrich the health knowledge.


“Today, we shall give free consultation, free medication to 1,000 persons in the next two days to aged, young adults, teens, children in Badagry. We have a strong medical team of highly experienced and qualified doctors and professional nurses to support the health mission.” Kosoko added.


Speaking at the event, the President of Rotary Club of Eko Atlantic, Mr. Vinod Kaurani appreciated the Visioner of Olu Kosoko Foundation for partnering with them to bring the Family Health Day programme to Badagrians, adding that 1,000 people across Badagry is expected to benefit from the health day.


Mr Kaurani further stated that although the programme cannot reach out to everyone considering the population of Badagry, but it will still go a long way towards impacting lives.


Speaking in an interview with CityMood Reporter, the Oniworo of Iworo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Oladele Friday Kosoko stated that he is proud of Olu Kosoko for organizing the Family Health Day Programme, noting that the programme is timely due to the impact it will have on the people.


Oba Kosoko further advised beneficiaries to be orderly and patient enough to enjoy the whole benefit attached to the programme. He therefore urged the general public to come out and partake in the opportunity as the programme continues tomorrow at Mosafejo in Olorunda Local Council Development Area.


The programme had in attendance the Akran of Badagry, De Wheno Aholu Menu Toyi 1, ably represented by the Depegan of Badagry; the Oniworo of Iworo kingdom, HRM, Oba Oladele Friday Kosoko; the Aholu Agano Toniyon 1 of Ajara Agamathen Kingdom; the Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Hon. Olusegun Onilude; CAN Chairman, Badagry Chapter, Pastor Samuel Hunyinbo and other notable personalities in the society.
