The Badagry Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (BACCIMA) has said it is ready to partner with Oto-Awori Local Government Area to ensure the development of commerce in Badagry Division of Lagos State.
This was made known during a courtesy visit to the Chairman of Oto-Awori Local Council Development Area, Prince Musibau Ashafa, led by the Chamber President, Alhaji Fatai Shokunbi, on Tuesday 11th August 2020.
Speaking during the visit, Second Deputy President of the Chamber and a retired Permanent Secretary in Lagos State, Mr. Sewanu Ashamu Fadipe explained that the chamber has succeeded in achieving some feats that are of benefit to people of the division.
Seeking for the partnership of the local council area, Fadipe said “For any business to thrive well, there is need for advocacy, we must have people to ensure that it gains ground, we have met with the Chairman of Ojo LGA, Olorunda LCDA and Badagry LGA and we are meeting you now because I know what you can do as a person.” He said.
Director-General of the Chamber, Mr. Opeyemi Oke stated that it became necessary to establish a chamber of commerce in Badagry Division because the socio-economic situation in Badagry division is alarming and young people are devoid of opportunities to channel their energy into something productive.
Responding, Prince Musibau Ashafa appreciated BACCIMA for its visit and pledged his full support to the Chamber.
